This old house boatman, fully renovated and situated in the historical center of Arles, near the quays of the Rhone, historic sites, cultural life of the city, museums, cafes, restaurants and shops.
This typical house offers comfort and cocooning. The decor is neat, the welcome is warm.
It is a wonderful place to enjoy and discover one of the most famous Provence territory, the Camargue, with on the Southside Nîmes, Avignon, the Lubéron, Marseilles and many small picturesque villages that are easily accessible by driving.
A wonderful stay in Arles to be within walking distance of everything was a wonderful plus.
Fantastic place. The view from the front was a bit daunting, but once we explored the historical area behind... oh wow. Very comfortable, a bit noisy with the windows open, but air conditioning was great, so that wasn't a problem. Lovely cared-for house with a great owner. Loved the ping pong!
The only thing that might have got us down a bit was the lack of natural light. But given the structure of the house and all those in that area, that was inevitable. Just hope the nearby boulangeries open soon.
Impeccability clean. The owner took the time explaining everything in detail, including the ping pong table in the basement, rooftop patio, kitchen, tourist information. Three toilets, nothing beats that. Great location - 10 min walk from Van Gough Cafe and the old town center. Plenty of parking space. This is the place to stay if you visit Arles.
What a great holiday we had there!
We highly recommend this house as the perfect place to enjoy a holiday in Arles.
The house is beautifully decorated, fully equipped and very spacious. The architectural layout has a charm about it that really makes you relax and feel at home.
The property is very well situated to explore Arles and access to the main roads to explore the Camargue, the Luberon or perhaps for a day trip into Marseille is very easy from this location.
The house is managed by a charming lady who welcomes you and is very helpful and well organised with presenting all the information you may need to enjoy your stay.
We will certainly try to re-book another holiday there when we next visit the area. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this accommodation to others.
My two friends and I enjoyed this lovely home. The location was excellent for touring around the city of Arles itself, absolutely full of wonderful attractions and ancient and historic sights, every one of which was within a 15-minute walk of the house. We walked around and through the neighborhood and had a "waving relationship" with several local merchants. Arles was a perfect center for driving out every day, as we did in our rental car, to surrounding cities and villages and sights. We were there two full weeks and never ran out of anything to do. The proximity to the freeway made it easy to be on our way every morning; however, the freeway noise might be a problem for some people as it is quite pronounced. Parking had been a problem until we discovered a free parking lot a few blocks away, which relieved us of that stress. This house is perfect for women traveling together because it has twin beds and three separate toilet areas. At the house there is a good supply of books, maps, and brochures to help in planning excursions. Although the WI-FI was excellent for internet use, two of us could not access our email for some reason. Learning to operate the washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher caused us some problems because all the instructions are in French. Lise is an attentive and adorable landlady and we enjoyed all of our interactions with her. However, the language barrier was a problem at times, too, so a little knowledge of French would be advised.
